As an organization of local government, we are looking for a passionate, highly-motivated, skilled individual to contribute to our management team as we navigate the fiscal and programmatic challenges associated with the inclusive service–orientated administration of the department’s Clinic, Care Management and PROS programs.  Tompkins County has a strong commitment to principles of inclusion and, in that spirit, actively encourages applications from groups underrepresented in U.S. government. Candidates who can contribute to those principles are encouraged to apply and to identify their strengths and experiences in this area. This position involves considerable independent responsibility for the supervision and coordination of the fiscal and administrative functions to support Mental Health Department operations. The incumbent performs high level functions including, but not limited to, budget, fiscal and business management, human resource management and supervision.

The Fiscal Administrator will monitor the generation of revenue and the regulatory bodies associated with the services provided such as the NYS Mental Hygiene Offices and Medicaid Managed Care as well as county funding. Successful candidates should possess competencies and demonstrated expertise in providing these services in a way that is socially responsible and community-centered.  Further, the incumbent will be responsible for the creation of the State mandated Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR).  The Fiscal Administrator is also a key member of the Local Government Unit (LGU) that oversees the dispersement of funds and negotiation of contracts with the service providers in the County.
