The Conference is Hiring: Capital Region Regional Planning Consortium (RPC) Coordinator (Full-Time, Remote Position)

The New York State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors (CLMHD) is a statewide membership organization representing the Directors of Community Services (DCS) for each of New York’s 57 counties and New York City. The Conference is statutorily incorporated under Article 41 of the Mental Hygiene Law in 1976.

The Conference is seeking a self-starting, behavioral or public health focused candidate residing in the Capital Region (CR) to fill a dynamic role as the RPC Coordinator to lead the daily operations of the CR Regional Planning Consortium (RPCs).  The Region is comprised of the following counties: Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga Rensselaer, Green and Columbia. The RPCs are an innovative and NYS-endorsed statewide initiative that is closely tied to the behavioral health Medicaid Managed Care Transition in 10 regions across the state. The RPCs are comprised of regional board members that are leaders in behavioral health, health policy, and regional government who collaborate to problem solve identified issues unique to the region around the transition of Medicaid behavioral health services and other new initiatives (including HARP / HCBS, Health Homes, Primary Care/Behavioral Health Integration and Value-Based care.)

As CR Coordinator, you will engage extensively with county and state government officials, and leadership teams from local community-based organizations, as well as participating health plans. Supported by an experienced team across the State, this integral position reports to the RPC Project Director and will require excellent time-management skills and a willingness to take your behavioral health experience in a new direction that can impact change at policy level.

Job Responsibilities

RPC Coordinators monitor, manage and coordinate all elements and aspects of their region’s NYS Regional Planning Consortium. Administrative responsibilities to include meeting facilitation, presentations, research of behavioral health issues, communication and collaboration with other RPC Coordinators across the State. Regional travel is expected within the course of some business days, with very seldom overnight travel.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Human Services, Public Health, Public Administration, Management or Healthcare is strongly preferred but not required
  • A minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in a behavioral health or public health related role (preferred)
  • Experience facilitating collaboration and partnership building amongst various stakeholder groups is required.
